Scripture Reading: Matthew 2: 9- 12

They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.

Matthew, the writer of the gospel

The shepherds did not bow. The angels did not bow. However, the wise men did bow down; men from another nation; men with no bloodline to Jesus. It is an act of surrendering, giving your lives to God. He wants you to surrender. Look at the story of the wise men, he saved their lives from Herod’s wrath because of their surrender. Trust me, taking the position of surrender, on your knees while in prayer is life changing.

Today, I share one of my favorite songs this season, its not a Christmas song but a fitting song to take the position of surrender, on your knees. While my mom was dying in the hospital; no beds because of covid; her heart left to fail on it’s own devices. I played this song over and over, praying for my mom, on my knees. He did hear my prayer. He took care of my mom in a beautiful way the last days of her life here on this earth, and I owe it all to the act of surrender.

Here I am
Down on my knees again
Surrendering all
Surrendering all

And find me here
Lord as You draw me near
I’m desperate for You
I’m desperate for You
I surrender

Nativity Fast

One more day til the feast. Are you ready? These days of no oil, have changed a few habits of mine and I hope to continue these in the future. One addiction hopefully overcome from these sacrifices, chips!!!. It has not been a perfect fast, by no means. I will try again next year. I’ve learned a lot. And I hope the same for you.
