Hello.  I write again.  It was difficult to share without our Juicer.  I missed it so much.  We had to send her off because she had a screw loose.  That sounds sort of comical.  Well, our “Super Angel” is back.  We did do something crazy while she was gone.  We bought a Vitamix, thinking this could substitute in her absence.  But their is no comparison.  I will say our children love the Vitamix.  They have been making incredible fruit and veggie smoothies daily. If is gets them to enjoy more veggies then I’m all for it.

Today I would like to share a blurb about Fibromyalgia.  I see often in our chronic pain support group, those that suffer with fibromyalgia.  I strongly believe that this disease is caused by a buildup of toxins in our bodies, whether environmental or from the foods we ingest.  Let’s take a look at the “Juicing Bible” and see what it says about juicing and fibromyalgia.  Fruits and vegtables to maximize:  apples, beets, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, green beans, onions, squash, sweet potatoes, and Jerusalem artichokes.  Herbs to maximize:  alfalfa, burdock root ( which I purchased at Whole Foods last week), dandelion leaf and root, echinacea, evening primrose oil, garlic, milk thistle, parsley St. John’s wort, turmeric, slippery elm bark powder.  Things to eliminate in your diet:  sugar, high sugar fruits ( like bananas and watermelon), refined flour, artificial food additives, alcohol, tomatoes, potatoes, all peppers, caffeine, dairy products (replace with soy or rice alternatives), and last of all fried foods.  This list sounds very daunting.  But if eliminating these foods could free you from pain, why not try.

I would like to share a lovely Healing Juice Drink for those of you that suffer with this horrible disease.

This Juice is called the Cauli-Slaw.

1/2 head cauliflower, cut to fit tube,

1/8 head cabbage

2 carrots

2 stalks celery

1/4 onion

1 apple

Enjoy. Soon I plan to venture in to growing our own herbs to place in our juices.  I will share more about that in the future.  If anyone has any tips on buying seeds and growing herbs please forward to our email, hopeforpain@gmail.com

During this past week I have joined my pastor in reading through the bible for the year with a little bit of a different twist.  Usually when you begin to read throughout the bible one would begin with Genesis and Matthew.  This study is a little different. It is a blended bible reading.   This month I am reading a little from Isaiah and Mark each day.  Check out www.backtothebible.org.  Click on bible studies and devotions and then click on “Blended bible reading guides”. Read along with me. Today is Isaiah 28- 29 and Mark 7:1-13.  Don’t worry if you feel like you’re starting in the middle.  Just start.  If you do decide to jump in take a look at the following blog for interpretation of Isaiah 28 ( betterbits.blogspot.com/2007/03/isaiah-28-drunkenness.html).  I needed to research a little to get a grasp on this passage, but I really like this gentlemen’s interpretation.  Great scripture for the day, Isaiah 28 16.  “Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation:  Whoever believes will not be in haste.”  Christ must me the cornerstone of our faith.  Quote from the above blogger,” What we should be looking for is the peace of mind that comes from hope in Christ.  Then our trials will be bearable.”  Amen

Have as great day.  God Bless.
