Chapter 12 – Help is Here

Scripture Reading: Galatians 6: 1-10

The fable at the end of this chapter is to die for. So beautiful. Are you filling the world with light like the third little boy? I think I wax and wane at this, often absorbed in my own first world problems. The comforting part is knowing that the Holy Spirit is hear to help. Failing to forget this often, Max Lucado reminds us that “We have a big God”.

Today let’s heeds Paul’s words in Galatians 6:4 (The Message), “Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.” Just this morning, a co worker shared with me that her daughter is struggling with anxiety and depression. She had to run out of work yesterday because her daughter had called her crying and in devastating emotional pain. This gave me an opportunity to share my own family struggles. We hugged and decided together, we would take each day “one day at a time” and believe that we do indeed have a big God.

Each day is a new day and on our good days let’s be like that little boy, lighting our candle and filling our work place, our communities, and our families with light. And on our bad days, allow us to remember that the Holy Spirit is indeed here to help.
