Breath On Bones
Scripture Reading: Ezekiel 37:1- 14
“And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you call know that I am the lord; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord. “
Ezekiel 37:14
God will put you in your own land. What is your land? What is your workplace? Your extended family? Your community? God has given us his Holy Spirit and a land for us to fulfill his destiny for our lives. He is willing to breathe life into the people in “their land”, we need only to believe and take a step in faith.
My land right now is my children. They are adults. I have been breathing breath in them since they were born, but it’s the Holy Spirit that gives them power now. When they fall from grace or spend a prolonged time away from the Lord, I pray. He seems to always bring them back. Just yesterday, one of them called me after church. Her and her husband found a church in their new land. “Mom and Dad, I just heard the best service. We are going to send you the online service. Please watch. It was so good.” Their excitement for the Lord was palatable. My other offspring, struggling in her current season, but I know the Lord has her. He is breathing his breath in her withered anxiety ridden, melancholy soul. She was thrown in the trenches as a first year freshman in 2020 in the middle of a world pandemic. The battle has tired her. She spent a year in isolation on a campus away from home, a time usually meant for learning who you are and finding life. I’m so proud of her, fighting her battles. Today I pray for her bones. Please Holy Spirit breathe life back into her, there is an exceedingly greatness meant for her land. Give her the strength to fight and give breath to others in her land. Help her to find her land.
Help all those reading these words to find their land also. Breathe life, the life of the Holy Spirit into each and everyone one. You are the giver of life. You breathe breath into us every day. You present armies to fight for us. You place us in battles and quench our souls. It is the Spirit who gives life. ( John 6:63a) And I am so grateful that he does. Thank you for spending these 13 chapters with me. – Nichole
