Do you have an accountability partner for anything in life?  Your spouse?  Your friends?  Your children?  Probably my spouse is my biggest partner to hold me accountable. Honestly, I struggle with the whole idea of telling others my secrets or even bothering someone else in this time deprived world we live in.  However, God’s Word encourages us to find an accountability partner to help us.  Those of us that suffer with chronic illness may  find this task even more daunting.  The internet does provide us with amazing resources for talking to others if we are home bound.  Together we will need to think and pray over this topic of finding an accountability partner.

For now let me give you the advantages of having this partner.  King Solomon, of the old testament, wrote in Ecclesiastes about the Advantages of companionship.  Note:  God gave King Solomon infinite wisdom, so I would respect what he wrote.  Take a look at Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.

Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. 11 Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? 12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken., New Living Translation.

So, we see that having a partner can help us succeed.  If we fall the other person can help us.  As two we can better fight our enemies.  Who most likely will try to fight us on our journey, Satan.  And I love the last verse,  “Three are better”.  I have learned this verse before in reference to marriages. Who is most likely to complete our triad, and make us a triple-braided cord?  You, your partner, and God.  God completes the triad.  We must add him to the equation.  Then, we can not fail.

I pray today that we will all consider this plan, me included.  Dear Lord, help us to identify who you have planned to be our partner on this journey.  Amen
