Oh, yes I am still Juicing. My greatest love right now is adding 3 green granny smith apples and 1/4 of lemon to any concoction in my juicer. In Virginia the weather has turned quite warm. We supplement our dinners three to four times a week with Juice. But right now I am adoring my Vitamixer ( blender) and making cold smoothies for breakfast. My favorite recipe, I give credit to this recipe to Aimee DuFresne, is called the Spinach Mango Smoothie.
Spinach Mango Smoothie
1 cup coconut milk
1 ripe mango, peeled and deseeded
2 cups of spinach
1 tablespoon of chi bran (optional)
I use the Chia Goodness, by Ruth’s Hemp foods Inc, found at my local health food store.
Don’t forget growing your own fresh herbs at this time of year and adding them to your juice blends or tea. I have St. John’s Wort and Feverfew growing in my garden . St. John’s Wort is great for depression and Feverfew is great for migraines. Above is a picture of my Fever few ( looks like chamomile) and in the back the tiny yellow flowers are the St. Joh’s Wort.
My next blog entry will be about Juicing on vacation. We are going to the beach for two weeks next friday. We are taking our juicer and Vitamixer. I can’t wait to taste my spinach mango smoothie on the beach.
