Project Mashi – Hope for the Children of Punjab
We are overjoyed to begin supporting the work of individuals around the globe. Starting now, 50% of all proceeds from Hope for Pain products sold through this website will be given to support those serving in challenging conditions overseas—bringing both physical and spiritual health to communities in need.
Our first initiative is Project Mashi, partnering with missionary Raheel Shaukat in Punjab, Pakistan. This Christian community faces deep hardship, especially for its youngest members—the children working in the local brick kiln factories.
Raheel shares the reality in his own words:
“At a local brick kiln factory, several young children are being forced to work under extremely difficult and unsafe conditions. Some are as young as seven or eight, carrying heavy bricks in the heat, deprived of education and the simple joys of childhood.
Most belong to poor families trapped in debt, compelled to work alongside their parents to survive. The situation is heartbreaking and urgently needs attention.
We humbly ask for support—whether through legal aid, rescue efforts, awareness campaigns, or education—to bring these children out of bonded labor into a life of dignity, safety, and learning.”
The name Mashi—which means Christian in Urdu—reflects Raheel’s identity and the heart of this project.
The Harsh Reality of Brick Kiln Labor
Across Punjab and other parts of Pakistan, brick kilns are tied to cycles of poverty and exploitation:
- Widespread Child Labor – An estimated two million children work in brick kilns, many enduring 14-hour days, six days a week.
- Bonded Labor and Debt Traps – Families often borrow money from kiln owners for essentials, only to see their debts grow due to meager wages and high interest, trapping them in servitude for generations.
- Hazardous Conditions – Children work barefoot in scorching heat, breathing in dust and toxic fumes, and suffering injuries, respiratory illness, and vision loss.
Bringing Light into the Darkness
Every Sunday, Raheel spends the day with these children—sharing the Gospel, providing food, and showing them the love of Christ.
When you purchase a book or any product through Hope for Pain, 25% of the proceeds go directly to Raheel’s work, ensuring these children receive nourishing meals and hear the message of hope.
Together, we can help break the chains of bondage and open the door to a future filled with dignity, safety, and faith.ods to help these children in the future.
We are just getting started. In the coming months, we will be creating additional ways for you to partner with us in this mission—through donations, special projects, and hands-on opportunities to make a difference. Your support today is the seed of even greater impact tomorrow.
